Weather ReviewRichard Hell is well known throughout the music world as co-founder of not one but two of the most important bands of the 'punk' movement, Television and The Voidoids. His literary outpoint has been just as fascinating and I believe in time will find the audience it deserves. Weather, published by Hell's Cuz Editions, is simply put one of the most fascinating books I have ever read. Hell takes one main idea and reworks it in various forms throughtout this small volume. Outside of the obvious pleasure brought on by reading the work, I was struck by the feeling that I was in a way getting a very personal peak at the artist writing it. Reading this reminded me of my favorite film, Jacques Rivette's La Belle Noiseusse. It is a rare thing these days to read great poetry, it is an even rarer thing to experience it. Richard Hell has given us two gifts: the poem and the process.Weather Overview
